About the Role

We are seeking a Strategic Consultant to support a high-profile client in Riyadh on a range of smart city initiatives. This is a hands-on, embedded advisory role working directly with senior leadership - ideal for someone who can operate as a trusted advisor, thought partner, and strategic problem-solver.

The role is intentionally broad to allow flexibility. You will work closely with the client to provide input on strategic direction, help shape high-impact initiatives, and support the day-to-day management of smart city programmes. This is a client-facing position requiring maturity, discretion, and the ability to quickly grasp evolving priorities.


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic advisory support on smart city initiatives, programmes, and governance

  • Act as a thought partner to senior leaders and help refine priorities, plans, and presentations

  • Support in shaping strategic documents, board materials, executive reports, and investment proposals

  • Identify risks and opportunities across projects and propose mitigation or acceleration strategies

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and clarity of direction

  • Act as a liaison between leadership and delivery teams when required

  • Assist in reviewing vendor proposals, project charters, or KPIs related to ongoing initiatives


Required Experience and Skills
  • 10+ years of experience in strategy consulting, government advisory, or smart city programme management

  • Strong understanding of smart cities concepts: digital infrastructure, urban planning, mobility, sustainability, citizen experience

  • Ability to work closely with senior stakeholders in high-pressure, high-visibility environments

  • Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills

  • Adaptable, proactive, and comfortable working with ambiguity and shifting priorities

  • Confident drafting strategic materials, reviewing reports, and coordinating delivery efforts


Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in Saudi Arabia or wider GCC region

  • Exposure to government, urban innovation, or public-private partnerships

  • Familiarity with Vision 2030 and its impact on city development

  • Arabic fluency is a plus but not required
